The Hawai'i Rural Water Association, a state association of NRWA, supports the
Rural Water Strong campaign!
Started by NRWA, Rural Water Strong supports the continued funding for the USDA Rural Development Water and Environmental Programs (WEP), which have consistently supported rural communities in completing necessary upgrades to their water and wastewater facilities.
These programs have allowed systems here in Hawai'i to receive technical assistance and funding. WEP plays a crucial role in boosting economic opportunities, safeguarding public health, maintaining affordable water access, and ensuring the sustainability of rural communities. As much of Hawai'i is considered to be rural, it is imperative that these Rural Water's voice and priorities are heard in Congress to maintain funding for these programs.
